Capital Health Plan Announces New Doctors

As Capital Health Plan (CHP) continues to expand to meet its growing membership, it welcomes three new primary care physicians to the family: Dr. Christine Chiu-Geers, Dr. Mary Jane Tucker, and Dr. Cielo Rose. While all of the physicians are familiar to Tallahassee patients, Dr. Rose will be among the medical professionals launching CHP’s new Metropolitan Health Center, opening this month. The new physicians are part of CHP’s ongoing efforts to provide its members with quality and affordable service.

Family Medicine physician Dr. Christine Chiu-Geers has been a dedicated member of Tallahassee’s medical community for nearly a decade. After obtaining her M.D. from the University of Florida, she completed her residency at the Halifax Family Medicine Program in Daytona Beach. She has been practicing in Tallahassee since 2010 and is also a clinical professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Dr. Chiu-Geers is located at CHP’s Governor’s Square Health Center.

Dr. Mary Jane Tucker has developed a deep understanding of Florida’s capital city and the needs of its people after years of experience in the community. She attended Florida State University for both undergraduate and medical school and completed her residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Dr. Tucker specializes in Family Medicine, working closely with patients to provide them with the care and guidance they need. Dr. Tucker is located at CHP’s Governor’s Square Health Center.

Dr. Cielo Rose is a Tallahassee native who received her D.O. from Nova Southeastern University. She will be a part of the Nancy Van Vessem, M.D., Center for Healthy Aging at the new Metropolitan Health Center, where she will serve patients as a primary care physician. As a specialist in Internal Medicine, Dr. Rose’s expertise will be focused on helping care for Tallahassee’s growing older adult population.

This trio of new CHP doctors join an outstanding team of physicians ready to serve CHP members – The Physician Group of Capital Health Plan -- and help them navigate toward better health.
