Capital Health Plan Helping Uninsured Families in the Big Bend With Individual and Family Plans

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.– Capital Health Plan (CHP), is working to lower the number of uninsured area residents by offering new coverage plans focused on those who are currently uninsured, unemployed, between jobs, or self-employed. The CHP individual and family plans are affordable and offer comprehensive benefits important to safeguard against the potentially high cost of health care. This is especially critical, as more than 40,000 area residents under 65 are uninsured.

"CHP has received tremendous support for many years from members who have joined through their employer or through their eligibility for Medicare,” said John Hogan, CEO of Capital Health Plan. ”We are delighted to offer new options for Capital Health Plan coverage at an affordable premium to individuals and families in our area who are struggling with health care costs and access to care.”

CHP’s new individual and family plans will offer a wide range of options – each providing comprehensive medical coverage including primary care and specialist services, inpatient and outpatient care, pharmacy, mental health and behavioral health services, maternity and newborn care and X-ray, vision and lab services. Additionally, members will have access to the Physician Group of Capital Health Plan located at CHP’s three exclusive health centers.

“We wanted to create plans that helped families gain the important healthcare coverage they need.We look toward working with other local community partners to ultimately reduce the level of uninsured in the community we serve,” Hogan said.

Enrollment begins November 1 for those who are eligible. To learn more, visit capitalhealth.com/individuals-families or call 850-523-7220.
