Measles (Rubeola) Vaccine

Measles, mumps, and rubella are viral diseases that can have serious consequences as it is an acute respiratory illness. Before vaccines, these diseases were very common in the United States, especially among children. They are still common in many parts of the world. Measles can be prevented with a measles-containing vaccine, which is primarily administered as the combination measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine. The combination measles-mumps-rubella-varicella (MMRV) vaccine can be used for children aged 12 months through 12 years for protection against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella.
